Welcome to the official website of Stichting Studiereizen Chemiestudenten (SSC). The SSC is the Dutch abbreviation for “Stichting Studiereizen Chemiestudenten”, which translates into the non-profit foundation of study tours for chemistry students. The SSC is run entirely by Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chemistry students. The organization is officially independent of the Pharmaceutical Science & Chemistry study association VCSVU.
The organization was founded in 1992 to organize educative, enriching and inspiring study tours for both Bachelor – and Master students of the Pharmaceutical Sciences program as well as the Chemistry program and the Drug Discovery and Safety program. To date, the SSC has organized a total of 15 study tours to various parts of the world. In 2019, the study trip took place in Singapore.
In April 2022 the SSC Board of 2020-2022 is planning to organize a study trip to Boston, United States of America. Boston offers a large variety of research in the domains of chemistry and medicinal chemistry. The culture of Boston will be an enrichment for the experiences of the students on this tour. Also, the extended knowledge in life science will be a great addition to the education of the students. Besides, this study tour will offer a possibility to broaden your network at the pharmaceutical companies and universities that will be visited.
